10 Traffic Secrets for your Website

Author: Taha Malik

As a marketer or a business owner, you have probably heard of (and even tried) quite a few strategies to boost your web traffic.

You have been posting blogs, publishing content and updating your social media regularly. And yet, you’re still at a loss to explain why the numbers aren’t going up. You’re not alone – increasing traffic is the biggest marketing challenge for anyone. And it’s really not your fault.

What you can do (and what most marketing blogs won’t tell you) is follow our 10 simple secrets for skyrocketing your traffic – as your top marketing and design agency, we assure you these work!

The only thing you have to do is make sure you follow ALL of them!

1. Update your Google My Business

Remember your Google My Business? That thing you updated 3 years ago? Yep. That’s the one. Head over there and update your information right now. And while you’re there, start putting up a weekly post as well – it’ll do wonders!

2.Ask your customers to post reviews on multiple platforms

Like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Maybe throw in a little incentive, such as a discount or a promotion. Your customers will love you even more!

3. Don’t just publish content. Answer questions

Ever notice those little snippets Google gives you when you type in a question? Yep. Those are excerpts from blog posts. Try and answer common questions people have with your content.

4. Research your keywords

Write content only on topics that your audience is interested in. There are lots of free tools you can use for this, including Google AdWords and Ahref’s Content Explorer.

5. Research your audience

Keywords are not the only way to gauge what your audience wants. Use social media to find out who your audience is, what they like, and who else they follow. Only then can you put up content that will actually engage people.

6. Research your competitors

Find out what they’re doing that works and try doing it better than them. They’re running a promotion? Cool, introduce a better one. They’re running a weekly blog? Publish your content twice a week!

7. Update old content

If you have been consistently publishing content, there’s no doubt that some, if not a lot, of it is outdated. Instead of writing on new topics all the time, it’s important to update your old content regularly.

8. Answer questions on Quora

The question and answer website is a great forum to answer existing questions about your business and to establish your brand’s authority. It’s also a great place to get more organic followers!

9. Write guest posts

Being a representative of your brand puts you in a unique position of authority in your particular niche. Use this to put out solid, reliable content that will lead to increased traffic and brand authority.

10. Collaborate

With non-competing brands that have a similar audience. Yep, they’re definitely out there and the collaboration will cross-promote to both your audiences.
(Tip: co-host a giveaway!)
