The mouse dies in the trap because he thinks the cheese is free.

Hey there! I hope everyone is doing well. Welcome to the next round of the Sunan Weekly Roundup!

What Are We Working On:

This week, we found ourselves asking a tough but necessary question: Are we choosing what’s easy, or what’s right?

From reviewing free design plugins to evaluating “zero-cost” marketing tools for our nonprofit clients, the answer wasn’t always clear on the surface. But as we peeled back the layers, a pattern emerged — quick fixes often came with hidden costs. Whether it was time wasted on buggy tools, or diluted messaging from chasing trends that didn’t align with our clients’ values, we realized something essential: just because it’s free doesn’t mean it’s good for you.

So, we paused. We refined. And we recommitted to intentional growth — not viral gimmicks, not shortcuts, but systems that serve with sincerity and strategy. Because barakah doesn’t come from speed. It comes from stillness, clarity, and alignment.

My Biggest Takeaway: The mouse dies in the trap because he thinks the cheese is free.

Read that again. Slowly.
It’s not just about mice or traps, it’s about the illusions we fall for in business, in branding, even in life.

We’re in a world that rewards quickness. Fast growth. Instant results. Free templates. Viral trends. But here’s the thing: free isn’t always freedom. And sometimes, what seems like a win is really just a detour from your purpose.

At Sunan, we’ve learned that shortcuts often lead to shallow outcomes. A brand that grows fast but wobbles under pressure. A campaign that gets clicks but not connections. A message that trends, but doesn’t transform.

This week, we were reminded: pause before you take the bait. Ask yourself — who set this trap, and what’s the real cost? We’re here to build with intention. With soul. With the kind of strategy that doesn’t just look good — it feels right.

Because when you know your worth, you don’t chase crumbs. You create the feast.
